LANTANA SPACE ARTIST RESIDENCY PROGRAM

A studio-based residency supporting artists to develop their practice through experimentation, inquiry and sustained making.

The program offers artists dedicated time, space and resources to pursue new ideas, test materials and approaches, and take creative risks.

With an emphasis on process over finished outcomes, the residency provides an opportunity for artists to extend their practice, follow emerging lines of inquiry and engage in critical exchange with peers and audiences.

LANTANA Space welcomes Camille Therese Evans, Darren Blackman and Jack Hodges as our 2026/27 artists in residence. Selected from 59 applications nationwide, each brings a distinct perspective, artistic practice and set of questions to the program.

The Residency

Each residency offers:

  • A $4,000 artist stipend

  • Eight weeks of studio space at LANTANA Space, Moffat Beach

  • Photographic documentation

  • Opportunities for critical dialogue and peer exchange

  • A public engagement opportunity developed in conversation with the artist, which may take the form of an open studio, artist talk or work-in-progress presentation
